Apple iPhone 14 pro Max Review

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max Review- With its brand-new 48MP camera, always-on display, and very creative notch replacement, Apple’s new iPhone 14 Pro Max appears to be a significant advancement.

Key specifications: iPhone 14 Pro Max

  1. A 6.7-inch AMOLED display with 1,290 x 2,796 resolution and 120 Hz motion.
  2. Hexa-core Apple A16 Bionic chipset with an Apple GPU
  3. 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of storage with 6GB RAM
  4. triple rear cameras: 48MP primary, 12MP wide-angle, and 12MP 3x telephoto.
  5. Availability: Pre-orders begin on September 9 and shipments begin on September 16.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max is a beast of a phone, and I’m not just saying that because of its larger lenses. This big-screen flagship packs a new 48MP camera, an always-on display and a new A16 Bionic processor that should once again lap the Android competition.

However, during my hands-on experience with Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max, I found the new Dynamic Island feature—notch Apple’s replacement—to be the most fascinating. Depending on what you’re doing, this pill-shaped cutout changes, displaying everything from background music to countdown timers.

At the September Apple event, I had a chance to spend some time with Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max, and I was impressed with both of its new cameras, particularly its low-light skills as well as new Action mode for video.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max release date and price

Preorders for the four new iPhone 14 models began on September 9; the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max is scheduled to be on sale on September 16. Although the $1,099 beginning price is costly, it is something of a positive given that there were reports that Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max will be seeing a price increase.

Although the 128GB of beginning storage doesn’t seem particularly professional, you can increase it to 256GB for $1,199. It costs $1,399 to upgrade to 512GB and $1,599 to get 1TB.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max design and colors: Meet Dynamic Island

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max does away with the notch in favor of a new Dynamic Island, giving it a distinct appearance from iPhone models introduced after 2017. This space-saving cutout in the shape of a pill transmits alerts, notifications, and activities.

For instance, I noticed a little play window with album art and the track information when I started listening to a song on Apple Music and then went back to the home screen. Long pressing the Dynamic Island will bring up a pop-up with further details.

Once a timer is set off, it will be added to the Dynamic Island on the right, giving you a lot of information in a compact area. Even better, Apple is working with developers to take use of these features, so you may be able to monitor sports scores in real time or even the condition of your Lyft ride.

Other than that, there is a significant difference in the design of Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max. Apple has abandoned the SIM card tray in favour of eSIMs for carrier provisioning. Some people, like myself, won’t appreciate the removal of this function.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max’s camera bump on the rear has bigger sensors. At 8.47 ounces, 6.33 x 3.05 x 0.31 inches, as well as 8.46 ounces, 6.33 x 3.07 x 0.3 inches for the iPhone 13 Pro Max, the overall design is somewhat thicker and heavier.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max is available in deep purple, silver, gold, and space black. I prefer the deep purple since it stands out the most.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max display

I’m not joking when I say Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max has the best display on any phone I’ve seen so far. And this 6.7-inch panel is super bright, with a rated brightness of 1,600 nits. Outdoors the Pro Max is rated up to a whopping 2,000 nits.

Up close, I really appreciated the rich colors and detail as I watched a recorded video in the new Action mode. It’s like having a mini movie theater in your pocket.

It gets better. Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max has an always-on display that shows your widgets and notifications in a low power state but still in color. This is much better than anything Android phones have tried. And because the display scales down to 1Hz, it should use very little power.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max cameras

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max’s brand-new 48MP camera offers you a wide range of shooting options. One benefit is a quad-pixel sensor that can record four times as much data. With this, you may later trim photos or have four pixels blended into one to get considerably brighter pictures.

A 2x telephoto zoom option is the other significant improvement to the camera. So, depending on what you desire for a certain shot, you get 2x or 3x.

I was pleased with Apple’s low-light photos when they displayed some photo examples. This is made possible via a new computational photography feature of the Photonic Engine, which claims to improve low-light performance on the Main camera by up to 2x, the Ultra Wide camera by up to 3x, the Telephoto camera by up to 2x, as well as the TrueDepth camera by up to 2x.

In terms of video, there is a new Action Style that allows for smoother filming when you’re moving about (the side-by-side example footage was compelling), and you can now capture Cinematic mode footage in 4K quality. What the Action mode on Apple iPhone 14 Pro looks like in real life is demonstrated in a video.

Although we still have a lot of testing to go, the iPhone 14 Pro Max might end up at the top of our list of the best photography phones.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max performance

Apple says that its 6-core CPU in Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max, which uses the new A16 Bionic chip manufactured using a 4nm technology, is up to 40% quicker than that of the competitors. Additionally, there is a 5-core GPU accelerator with 50% greater memory bandwidth.

What good does all this power do? In order to support the new camera hardware and carry out up to 4 trillion operations each picture, the CPU, GPU, Neural Engine, and image signal processor are made to cooperate.

We will use our own benchmarks to test the A16 Bionic chip.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max battery life and charging

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max, according to Apple, has a day-long battery life. That amounts to 25 hours of recommended streaming video playback, which is identical to the iPhone 13 Pro Max’s rating. The good news is that the iPhone 13 Pro Max made our list of top phones for battery life by lasting more than 12 hours during our web browsing test.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max has the same 20W charging as previously, which means you can anticipate getting to 50% in 30 minutes. As had been rumored, receiving 30W charging would have been excellent.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max satellite and crash detection

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max will feature Emergency SOS via satellite in the U.S. and Canada this autumn if you are unable to acquire a cellular connection. In order to communicate with emergency services, this capability enables the antennas to link directly to a satellite.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max will also have crash detection as a safety feature. When a serious motor accident is detected, the phone uses a new dual-core accelerometer with high dynamic range gyroscope to instantly summon emergency services.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max outlook

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max seems more like a genuine advancement for Apple’s flagship than just another incremental improvement. You get a robust new 48MP camera, an intelligent notch replacement, and an always-on display that may simplify your life while preserving battery life.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro looks fantastic, too, but if you want a bigger screen and a longer battery life, Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max is your best option. Watch this space for our in-depth review of Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max Pros and Cons

The Pros and Cons of Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max are listed below-

Pros

  • Updated design
  • The dynamic island is awesome.
  • Amazing display
  • Constant-on display
  • Added power
  • Modernized cameras

Cons

  • Expensive
  • Loves a fingerprint

Our Verdict

The iPhone 14 Pro Max doesn’t appear to be all that different externally from the 13 Pro Max in our preliminary tests. But these alterations go beyond surface level, and the Dynamic Island represents a real shift for the gadget. Although a lower price than anticipated is appreciated, would it be sufficient to entice potential upgraders?

Conclusion

In Apple’s latest iPhone lineup, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is the largest, boldest, and most spectacular phone. It is also the most expensive.

Although that pill form does seem like it gets in the way for some apps, the new Dynamic Island is a truly unique update that we believe consumers will appreciate and adapt to fast.

The iPhone Pro Max range’s camera improvements are standard, but it’s likely that the low light performance and new Action Mode may really wow us.

It doesn’t feel all that different in the hand from the phones that came before it, but Apple fans didn’t appear to mind in years past. Nevertheless, we still believe that the iPhone 15 needs to represent a significant advancement to maintain the iPhone’s current momentum.

Will there be a 14 pro Max?

There are new colors, to start. Silver and gold, which are classic colors, as well as Deep Purple and Space Black, which are brand-new, are all available for the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. The colors Silver Blue, Alpine Green, as well as Graphite from the iPhone 13 Pro are gone.

When did the iPhone 14 Pro Max come out?

The iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, as well as iPhone 14 Pro Max are all part of Apple’s new iPhone 14 series. The iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max will go on sale on September 16, and preorders for all of the phones will begin on September 9.

Does iPhone 14 Pro Max have a SIM?

Apple states on its buying page for the iPhone 14 that “iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models will come ready to activate using eSIM. * Note, these devices cannot activate with a physical SIM.” In the US, physical SIM cards are a thing of the past, yet the iPhone 14 still has a SIM slot in other regions.
