According to the Support page for YouTube Music, “We’ve chosen to stop using precise location in YouTube Music. All exact location-based suggestions, location preferences, and app permissions will be removed. Any YouTube Music data that was collected from your specific location is likewise being deleted. The new policy will take effect on September 26.

Users of YouTube Music will continue to receive playlists based on their general area, such as playlists of the top songs in the nation, playlists about the weather, and so forth. Users won’t notice any changes to these functions, according to YouTube. It should be noted that the app will still access your location.

Furthermore, the business makes it clear that “This change solely affects your location settings in YouTube Music. It has no effect on the location settings on your gadget or on your Google Location History settings.

For the unversed, YouTube Music users also have a choice to temporarily turn off the location access by going to the Settings section, then Privacy and location and then turning off the toggle for location.
