AMD 6nm Navi 24 GPU Based RX 6500 XT And RX 6400 Launch Next Month

AMD 6nm Navi 24 GPU based on AMD RDNA 2 Radeon RX 6500 XT, 6nm TSMC Node, 141mm2 Die Size & Powers In January 2022.

Video cards has leaked the first images of AMD’s upcoming and smallest RDNA 2 GPU, the Navi 24 chip. The chip will be used in the Radeon RX 6500 XT and Radeon RX 6400 graphics cards, which will be released in 2022.

The AMD 6nm Navi 24 GPU ‘RDNA 2’ GPU is expected to be the smallest member of the Radeon RX 6000 series, with a die size of 141mm2. It’s basically half of the Navi 23 GPU, and it’s meant to power low-end discrete graphics cards like the Radeon RX 6500 XT and RX 6400.

As previously reported, the GPU will be the first device to use TSMC’s brand new 6nm production node.

The AMD 6nm Navi 24 GPU is a tiny GPU with a die size of 141 mm2, which is slightly smaller than the RDNA1 Navi 14’s 158 mm2.

The render indicates that the GPU has half of Navi 23’s GPU clusters, or 16. The actual implementation has 1024 shading units, with each cluster including 64 Stream Processors.

The Infinity Cache has been lowered to 16 MB, and the memory controller is only 64 bits wide.

AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT Graphics Card With AMD 6nm Navi 24 GPU

The complete Navi 24 XT GPU die will be used in the AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT. The AMD Navi 24 GPU, codenamed ‘Beige Goby’ privately, is the smallest in the RDNA 2 series and will feature a single SDMA engine.

The chip will include two shaded arrays, totaling 8 WGPs and up to 16 Compute Units. Because AMD uses 64 stream processors per computing unit, the Navi 24 GPU’s total core count is 1024, which is half of the Navi 23 GPU’s 2048 stream processors in 32 compute units.

Each shaded array would have 128 KB of L1 cache, 1 MB of L2 cache, and 16 MB of Infinity Cache in addition to the number of cores (LLC). The AMD Navi 24 RDNA 2 GPUs will also be available on low-end Radeon RX 6500 or RX 6400 series chips with a 64-bit bus interface.

The card will have a 128 GB/s bandwidth, but AMD is working on a new marketing term for overall bandwidth (including Infinity Cache), which is rated at 232 GB/s. The AMD Navi 24 is predicted to have extremely high clock speeds, possibly exceeding 2.8 GHz.

AMD Radeon RX 6400 Graphics Card With AMD 6nm Navi 24 GPU

The AMD Radeon RX 6400 is the second card in the Navi 24 RDNA 2 family, and it will be built on a slightly reduced ‘XL’ architecture with 768 cores. The card will keep its 4 GB of GDDR6 memory and run at somewhat lower clock speeds, but still in the 2.5 GHz+ range.

Because of its 53W TDP, the RX 6400 is expected to boot without the use of any power connectors. It will also have a standard bandwidth of 112 GB/s and an IFC bandwidth of 232 GB/s. While the Radeon RX 6400 is slated to arrive after the 6500 XT, it will most likely remain an OEM-only device with no custom versions.

The card is aimed for the entry-level and low-profile GPU market, featuring a single-slot and half-height form factor, a single fan, and an HDMI port, as seen in the official renders.
