  1. The Prime Minister launched the long-awaited service during the 6th India Mobile Congress 2022, which will be held from October 1-4 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. After Diwali, 5G services will be accessible in 13 Indian cities.

He then went to the Airtel, Vodafone Idea, C-DOT, and other companies’ booths.
  4. The government has set an aim of achieving 80% coverage of 5G telecom services in the country in a short period of time, according to Union Minister for Communications, Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw.
  5. Precision drone-based farming, high-security routers as well as AI-based cyber threat detection platforms, automated guided vehicles, Ambupod – smart ambulance, augmented reality/virtual reality/mix reality in education and skill development, sewage monitoring system, smart-agri programme, health diagnostics, as well as other use cases will be indicated in front of the PM at the exhibition.

However, we are aiming for a highly aggressive pace, and the government has set a target of 80% coverage in a short period of time, which we should surely achieve.”

Sunil Bharti Mittal’s Bharti Airtel successfully bid Rs 43,084 crore for spectrum, while Vodafone Idea Ltd paid Rs 18,799 crore. Gautam Adani’s company spent Rs 212 crore for spectrum in the 26 GHz band, which is appropriate for establishing an end-to-end private network.
