Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5 vs Pixel Slate : Which Should You Buy

Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5 vs Pixel Slate – Chromebook Duet 5 is among a slew of fresh Chrome OS tablets that we’re keeping an eye on recently. Although it appears to be an appealing offering, that’s always a smart option to weigh all of your alternatives. Despite having a short production process, Google’s Pixel Slate remains one of the most popular Chrome OS tablets available.

We’ll look at how these tablets differ in our comparison and which one you should buy right now. This is a comparison of the Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5 with the Google Pixel Slate.

Display and Design

Beginning with the design and implementation, these devices are comparable in several aspects. According to the data sheets, the Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5 weighs roughly as much as the Pixel Slate.

This is important to remember, particularly because the Pixel Slate’s display is relatively smaller. Both laptops are comparably slim and small, but  the optional removable keypad adds a significant amount of weight to each.

Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5 vs Pixel Slate : Which Should You Buy

The Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5 arrives with a keyboard cover included in the box. A detachable keyboard is available for the Pixel Slate, although it must be purchased separately and is still fairly pricey. The Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5 is a clear winner because the removable keyboard is included in the base price.

Both tablets are constructed of metal and thus are extremely long-lasting. The Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5 is built of aluminium alloy, whereas the Pixel Slate is made of magnesium alloy. Each of these tablets can be used with a pen.

One notable distinction is the Pixel Slate’s biometric security. A fingerprint scanner is included into the power button of the Pixel Slate.

This is encouraging, as many high-end Chromebooks lack biometric security features that enhance the user experience. However, no fingerprint sensor is available on any of the Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5 variants.

On the subject of screens, each of these Chrome tablets feature a high-resolution panel. With its 3000 x 2000 Molecular Display, the Pixel slate wins in terms of overall ppi. However, the Pixel Slate’s display isn’t the most colour performs.

Enable for the Keypad and the Pen

The keypad and pen on the Pixel Slate, like previously stated, are fully alternative add-ons. The removable keypad comes standard with the Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5, while the USI pen is offered individually.

When are using Chrome tablet for business and need a keyboard or pen input, this is the most important factor.

The Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5 has a lot of unknowns when it comes to keyboard quality. Although the Slate had a number of flaky Bluetooth difficulties, the early evaluations of the Pixel Slate keypad were positive.

Despite this, the Pixel Slate has a nice keypad with numerous typing configurations. The Duet 5 keyboard layout appears to be lovely and a little more expansive than the initial Duet from 2020, but we won’t know for sure.

Battery life and performance

Although it’s difficult to forecast efficiency on a prerelease device, the Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5 should easily win this contest.

While we don’t even have any real-world data yet because we haven’t run any benchmarks, the newer Snapdragon 7c second generation in Lenovo’s tablet could theory outperform the Pixel Slate in benchmarks.

We do know that the Pixel Slate has its fair share of quality issues. On the Slate, playing high-end Android games like PUBG or Asphalt 9 is really impossible.

If users want to utilise many Linux applications or operate heavy photo or video processing programmes in Chrome OS, multitasking on the Slate can indeed be tough.

On paper and in reality, the Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5 appears to be the clear winner, which we can and will evaluate in this evaluation whenever the Duet 5 becomes available soon.

In principle, the OEMs of both smartphones give them equal battery estimates. According to the Pixel Slate evaluations, the Google tablet lasts roughly 7-8 hrs in real life, less than the 12 hours indicated on the product label.

This is very common, but we would anticipate the Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5 to have a comparable battery capacity. Lenovo, on the other hand, promises that the Duet 5 can last up to 15 hours to charge. That’s a big claim to make.

The Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5’s Snapdragon 7c 2nd chipset, on the other hand, may help with battery life.

Audio and video cameras

Because of the continuous pandemic, video calling has gained popularity over the previous 18 months. The majority of Chromebooks still have 720p cameras and don’t include a back cam.

On these tablets, the picture quality is superb. Both the Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5 and the Pixel Slate have with front or back cameras with FHD+ resolution.

The Google Pixel Slate has an 8-megapixel camera between the front and backside, whereas the Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5 has a 5-megapixel frontal cam and an 8-megapixel wide-angle rear camera.

These cams are important in the age of Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet.

On any Chrome OS device, the Pixel Slate features a few of the best speakers available. Another of the main selling points for Google’s tablet just at time was its sound quality.

Lenovo, on the other hand, is attempting to challenge in the sound department with the Chromebook Duet 5, which includes a quad sound array.

Given how fantastic the first Duet sound with just twin loudspeakers, there was a strong possibility Lenovo will do well in this area.

While both devices have advantages and disadvantages, the Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5 lacks too many functions that the Pixel Slate does in 2021.

Get newer Snapdragon 7c second-generation processor, as well as a removable keypad, a USI pen, and an extended Chrome OS maintenance roadmap. The Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5 appears to be among the year’s top Chromebooks.

Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5 vs Pixel Slate : Which Should You Buy

The addition of the USI pen and removable keypad is the most compelling feature. If buy a similar deal with the Pixel Slate, the accessories alone will set you back roughly.

If you’re just a Google fan, that may sound appealing, but due to its advanced age.
