Novel Game Streaming : Samsung Becomes the Latest Tech Giant
Samsung became the latest gadgets behemoth to unveil game streaming, following Sony, Nvidia, Microsoft, and Google in doing so. The news was revealed at Samsung’s Technology Conference 2021.
The new framework will be powered by Tizen, the industry’s own Linux-based desktop. Over 200 million Samsung gadgets, the most of which are smart Televisions, are powered by the Software.
Even during presentation, Yongjae Kim, Executive Vice President of Video Display System Research & development activities at Samsung, said, “We are currently developing Cloud Downloadable Game to expand user gaming choice on Samsung Smart TVs.” “This implies that you could eventually be able to play games without having to buy high-end hardware.”
Besides the introduction, the firm hasn’t revealed any other information regarding the framework, such as which titles will be offered through it.
Because the business stated that the service will be a substitute to “high-end gear,” this could be akin to what Microsoft offers with its Stadia new streaming service.
Game Streaming
Galaxy was among the first firms to explore in game streaming, despite the fact that it appears to be late today. In 2010, the firm teamed with Gaikai, a cloud gaming upstart, to provide games on its high-end TVs, that was a huge success.
Samsung will face greater competition from at least a half-dozen other tech businesses eleven years from now. Despite the fact that the technology is functional, game streaming is still in its infancy and has failed to gain widespread acceptance.
The lack of decent internet access around the world appears to be the most significant issue faced by cloud gaming providers. With its Stadia system, Google has to discover this the importance of hard work. New stadiums struggled to live up to the expectations for a much launch, and it had a number of technical troubles.
Company has launched that it will enter the cloud video game industry with a Tizen smart TV system solution. The announcement was made during Samsung’s Developers Conferences keynote, and the firm didn’t say which applications will be accessible, what other devices it’d be accessible on, if any, or when it will be released. Many more of Samsung’s large tech opponents are moving into virtualization, but it’s also something the company has experimented in before.
Samsung collaborated with Gaikai, a game streaming content firm, inside the early 2010s to deliver an initial form of video games to its elevated TVs.
The premise was pretty the same now as it is now:
Samsung Mobile Gaming would allow you to play games without even a TV, an internet access, and a controller. Gaikai’s current buyer opted to go in unique manner after the system debuted in beta. By the way, Sony was the owner, and the technology was later incorporated into the lacklustre PlayStation Now service.
In 2021, Samsung will encounter stronger challenge from the several large tech competitors than it had in the early years – Google’s Stadia service, Amazon’s Luna, and more gaming-focused businesses like Microsoft and Nvidia all have their own products.
The idea, in general, is to just get game streaming onto as many devices as possible, providing the same online experience on smartphones and televisions. Samsung says its online downloadable game would allow “customers to play the latest releases on their Samsung Smart TV integrated with Tizen platform,” according to a Conversation on the company site. That appears to me to be a rather limited service, although this may happen in the future.
