Sony WF C500 Review: Solid Audio On Budget Sony WF C500 Design

Sony increases its fully wireless headphones sector while lowering its price level! Sony WF C500, the industry’s most budget-friendly TWS earbuds, were just released in India for Rs 8,990, but are currently available for Rs 5,990. Sony WF C500 rivals with other TWS alternatives in the sub Rs 10,000 range that offer functionality audio quality, despite having the lowest price in Sony’s headphone segment. On paper, Sony’s latest headphones can match with most other TWS headphones while keeping exceptional battery life, app support equalization controller, IPX4 water resistance, and a slimmer design than its predecessor WF-XB700.

Design of the Sony WF C500

When compared to previous gen earbuds, Sony hasn’t made any big design modifications to Sony WF C500, but a tiny adjustment to the lid gives it a whole new look.

The case is basically shaped like a small capsule and features a translucent lid with a textured matte finish on top. This allows you to see inside the case, which has three LEDs indicating charge levels — two for the earbuds and one for the case. It also has a smudge-free and fingerprint-resistant finish. The earbuds are more smaller than earlier Sony TWSs, which fit in easily, but I found it difficult to keep them in place while moving or walking around. As a result, painful falls to the ground were all too common.

Sony WF-C500 audio performance

Sony WF C500 is capable of handling a wide range of musical genres. For me, the sound quality of these headphones at this pricing point is everything.

It includes a unique equalizer that can be easily manipulated with the Headphones Connect app, with over 8 sound equalizer choices to tailor the sound to your preferences and music. For the price, I thought the bass was adequate for Pop and Bollywood music. Sony WF C500 produces good overall sound with little distortion even at high volumes. The middle performed good for me as well, though the audio became a little flat at lower frequencies.

When it comes to phoning, it produces crisp, clear sound with minimal interference. Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is a big feature I miss on the Sony WF-C500, despite other firms offering it in this price range.

Features of the Sony WF-C500

The Sony WF-C500 uses Bluetooth 5.0, which can be slow to connect the first time you link the device, but once you do, it takes no time at all.

These sets come with the working choice of an earphone that is a plus. However, Sony has omitted transparency and the ANC option, which looks like a squandered opportunity at this price. Not only that, but I also missed the headphones’ basic auto play/pause feature.

Both earbuds have physical buttons, which prefer to touch controls – a simple way to avoid those annoying accidental touches! However, hitting the buttons causes it to sink into the ear, so there is opportunity for advancement here as well. It also lacks button customization choices, despite application support.

Battery for Sony WF C500

These Sony earphones have a long battery life. Once it’s completely charged, you may relax and enjoy a long musical adventure.

I wore the headphones for a total of 10-11 hours, including 1-2 h of continuous calls & music at a loud range of 60-70.

The main drawback is that the charging case only carries one more charge, resulting in a total battery life of roughly 20-22 hours from the charging case. With a daily average usage 4-5 hours, it may easily last 3-4 days on a single battery charge. Even a ten minute charge will provide you with an hour of enjoyment. The USB-C port takes roughly 2 hours to fully charge the case.

Conclusion

At Rs. 6,000, the Sony WF C500 is a wonderful deal for audiophiles searching for outstanding quality and a long battery life. Headphones, which not only look funky but also feature a superb sonic signature as well as a customizable app, are an excellent option for people searching for ANC mode and Transparency. Realme Buds Air 2 is another excellent alternative, featuring a long battery life and ANC.

Sony WF C500, on the other hand, is more concerned with audio quality, and music fans should take this into consideration.
