Grell Audio’s TWS/1 earbuds sound as good as you want them

TWS technology is used in the Grell Audio’s TWS/1 earbuds, which includes bespoke 10,1mm dynamic drivers with a +/- 1 dB tolerance.

They have Axel Grell Noise Annoyance Reduction (NAR) technology as well as Active Noise Cancellation (ANC).

With ANC switched on, they have an overall battery life of 34 hours.

Grell audio true wireless earbuds have a minimalistic, industrial-style design that contrasts the acoustic output’s intricacy as well as richness while maintaining a comfortable fit.

It has an IPX4 rating, which means you may use it even while it’s raining.

Connectivity

The Qualcomm 5141 chipset in the Grell Audio’s TWS/1 earbuds enables Bluetooth 5.2, which is compatible with the following audio codecs: SBC, AAC, Qualcomm® aptXTM, Qualcomm® aptXTM adaptive, LHDC, and has a range of over 50 meters.
It works on iOS and Android devices, as well as tablets and computers.

Battery Life

Grell Audio’s TWS/1 earbuds can give up to 34 hrs of listening time using ANC ON (6 hrs in earphones and over 4 full charges in the charging case) and up to 45 hrs of listening time with ANC OFF when the charging case is completely charged (Over 8 hours in earbuds as well as over 4 full charges)

The case is wireless charging compatible as well as charges using a USB type C charge port.

The actual battery life is very close to the manufacturer’s claim.

With ANC and NAR largely activated, I was able to obtain roughly 6 hours of music and phone calls while the case supplied four full charges.

Build Quality

The black matte earbuds’ shell is constructed of a mix of plastic and aluminum, with a glass touch surface on the outside for gesture instructions.
The build quality is excellent, and they look stunning thanks to a modern design that is subtle and unobtrusive.
There are no physical icons on the device, and all control functions are handled via the touchpad.

Call Quality

Grell Audio’s TWS/1 earbuds use a sophisticated microphone array as well as a patent-pending Multilayer Turbulence Eliminator (MTE), resulting in crystal clear communication for both callers and answerers.
There is nothing else to say about this performance.

Comfort And Fit

Grell Audio’s TWS/1 earbuds are marketed as being simple and secure to install, but I had considerable difficulty doing so.

Each earbud has a large inner component, a shallow nozzle, and a restricted range of ear tips.

So, at least with the silicone ear tips, getting a firm fit was rather difficult for me, and I was never able to obtain a deep insertion that I liked.

The idea is to rotate your head in such a way that one of the ear tips comes loose and is jammed into my ear canal.

Then I put on the provided silicone ear fins, which improved with stability a little.

2 sets of memory foam ear tips were included, which finally provided the long-awaited fit, but I despise the notion of wearing them and having to buy a new pair every month.

Our Verdict

Audio quality is excellent with all types of music, whether ANC/NAR is activated or not, the tuning can be greatly customized using the SoundID app, the battery life is excellent, as well as the build quality is excellent.

My only criticism is that the fit may not be ideal for all users and that there are no extra ear tips available to compensate.

Grell Audio’s TWS/1 earbuds are amazing sounding earbuds that carry the Axel Grell legacy, however, the road to success is not paved with gold.

Conclusion

A 10mm dynamic driver is used in each earbud, which is extremely large for a set of truly wireless earbuds. Grell Audio’s TWS/1 earbuds come with Sonarworks’ SoundID for calibration as well as personalization, as well as a frequency-selective ANC feature filtered by a patent-pending Noise Annoyance Reduction (NAR) psycho-acoustic model.

The earbuds offer stereo as well as mono listening, making users conscious of their surroundings whenever necessary, as well as low-noise microphones transmit clear sound that is equally ideal for face-to-face calls as well as conference calls.

People May Ask

What About NAR In Grell Audio’s TWS/1 Earbuds?

If there is noise in the surroundings, the TWS/1 passively blocks it out in the high mid and high-frequency range. The ANC feature can be used in the low and low-frequency ranges. Higher, more irritating frequencies become heard due to a considerable noise reduction in the low-frequency band.

As a result, the new Grell Noise Irritation Reduction (NAR) technology (patent pending) scans the noise spectrum as well as regulates the ANC using a psychoacoustic model to reduce annoyance to a minimum.
